It's hard to talk about Reigning Sound without a complete history lesson. But, you didn't click on my site for a history lesson, so get ready for the here and now of Reigning Sound's Love and Curses. Raunchy garage rock may not be your cup of tea. And while Love and Curses is definitely of the garage breed, it features minimum raunch. Unlike other bands - with their open E strings, busted tube amps and ill-proportioned mixing - Reigning Sounds have cleaned up their act with a balanced album. Love and Curses is gritty enough that you wont confuse it for pop rock, however, the melodies are refined enough that you wont come across as totally tone deaf when you play it for your friends. It's a gateway drug to much more distorted stuff. Later you can step it up to the Oblivians.
