Roller Derby Depot exclusively offers these Black Ballz silicon nitride ceramic speed bearings. The ceramic balls are lighter, smoother, stiffer, harder corrosion resistant, and electrically resistant. Not only are the Black Ballz lighter than comparable ceramic bearings, they are also almost half the price – which is a bonus giving most skater’s budgets. They are engineered tough and built for speed. RDD’s Dale E. Varner aka dick.Dale adds “We have determined that our Black Ballz perform best using a very small amount of dry film lube such as our Speed Juize. If you want the best, but don't want to pay for the name, this is the bearing for you.”

I have run these bearing for about a year. They are supper smooth and just need some dry lube every few months and will roll forever. If you are running 7mm axles be sure to get the 8mm adapters (metal insert). At least that is all that was offered a year ago. I also run a metal spacer in between the bearings for more support. I've been commuting to work via inline speed skates in Manhattan, NYC for 20 years. It's been a lengthy process getting my equipment just right. I need to use ceramic bearings because of the amount of wet weather I have to deal with. I've tried many different bearings over the years. Once I discovered these Black Ballz I did not look back. They're the only bearings I'll use.
