There’s something wonderfully enjoyable about a singer with an extra gritty voice; one who sounds like he’s consumed nothing but broken glass and cigarettes for years. Throw that voice on top of some poppish punk beats and you’ve got Off With Their Heads. Their latest release, From the Bottom, is a collection of tracks that are the truest punk rock we’ve heard in years. There are plenty of upbeat anthems blended with coarse attitude without going too far over the top or too far into emo-land. The lyrics are honest and intense while the backing music is driving and complex. Their music never gets bogged down into a pigeonhole, and the album contains a slight diverse selection of styles while still staying consistently on course. No Idea Records churns out some great albums, and this is no exception. The world needs more punk music as real as OWTH provides on this release.  Pick this up and let the good times roll, along with your heads.
