Hollow Corp.

Cloister of Radiance

I almost want to call this a doom metal album, but there's just enough straightforward metal here to keep it out of the doom pit. Much like Mastodon or Baroness, Hollow Corp. can take listeners off on a whimsical almost atmospheric instrumental tangent without getting redundant or monotonous. Cloister Of Radiance is an impeccably heavy disc with absolutely no flaws--as long as you like slower tempos. It's actually the slow pace that gives this 56 minute masterpiece its devastating power. Hollow Corp has that rare quality--similar to Tool--to be creepy, intelligent, and metallic without being intimidating.
