The long awaited and highy anticipated trailer for Drew Barrymore's Whip It was recently released by Fox Searchlight Pictures. The film is based upon the book Derby Girl, written by real-life rollergirl Shauna Cross. Read Shauna Cross' interview with FRACTURE Magazine here. The directorial debut of Drew Barrymore, Whip It stars Ellen Page (Juno) as Bliss, a rebellious Texas teen who throws in her small town beauty pageant crown for the rowdy world of roller derby. Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River, Pollock) plays Bliss disapproving mother, while Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live) and Juliette Lewis (Old School) play roller-derby stars.
Whip It will be released in theaters on October 2.
