From the East Coast Derby Extravaganza site:

Founded in 2007 by Philly Roller Girls, the East Coast Derby Extravaganza is a large-scale women's flat track roller derby event featuring a weekend full of competition by teams from across the US and Canada. The event will take place June 27-28, 2009 at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA. Participants will include Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) member leagues as well as regional rookie leagues eligible to apply for membership into the national organization.

Two rinks will feature full-length, regulation bouts between all-star teams of WFTDA member leagues, while one additional rink will host half-hour challenge bouts between travel teams not participating in WFTDA action, as well as home teams and Extravaganza-special teams composed of players from across the derby world. That's three rinks of simultaneous derby action!

The ECDX was conceived with the goal of making women's flat track roller derby more accessible to leagues in both the East and North regions of the country. However, now that the tournament enters its third year, it has grown into an event that is attended by skaters from around the United States and beyond. The 2009 ECDX will host more than 90 (and counting!) WFTDA and non-WFTDA leagues comprising over 900 expected skaters, with an additional 200 referees, officials, statspeople and announcers.

Please join us at the 2009 East Coast Derby Extravaganza, June 27-28 at the Sportsplex. The event is open to the public and offers a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable roller derby experience. Tickets are available in single-bout, single-day or full-weekend passes.
