Crazy 4 Cult 2: This Time It's Personal

Posted Aug 23, 2008

Gallery 1988 Los Angeles is currently exhibiting Crazy 4 Cult 2: This Time It's Personal, the follow-up to last year's cult movie themed and wildly successful Crazy 4 Cult. This amazingly awesome art show will run until September 12th, 2008. The opening reception had many of the artists involved in attendance, as well as the presence of the yearly hosts Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier (the team behind cult classics Clerks and Mallrats).

Crazy 4 Cult 2 gives over 100 artists the chance to pay homage to their favorite classic cult films by putting their own unique twist on well-known characters and scenes. The Big Lebowski, Point Break, Edward Scissorhands, Mommie Dearest, Ed Wood, Donnie Darko, and A Clockwork Orange are just a few of the many cult classics that the artists chose to immortalize in their works. Some of the artists involved include Gris Grimly, Sas Chrisitian, Colin Christian, Jason D'Aquino, Shepard Fairey, Cherri Wood, Jessica Cooper, Alex Pardee, Craig Driscoll, Brandi Milne, Erica Gibson, and many more. Crazy 4 Cult is definitely one of the coolest art shows ever; who wouldn't want these cult icons hanging on their walls? Check it out.
